As Police Get Drones, Some Get Worried about Privacy 

        I would like to have the drone technology in my country to help us against the violence. The new drone airspace technology is helping countries in monitoring weather condition, surveillance and searching for missing people. The article "As Police get Drones, some get worried about privacy" by Peter Finn, states that in some countries this technology - called Drone - has helped in different scenarios. Some people are in favor and other are against to use this technology. It would be interesting that my country acquire this revolutionized technology to improve the security and violence for many reasons.

The Truman Show Syndrome

 

         The new syndrome described in an article "Truman Show Syndrome" by Colin Lecher, where some people imagine being watched by government spies all the time like the movie on the "The Truman Show" demonstrates that  the security and technology used control citizens in The United States has changed the way people think for the worst.

         The United States government has made many restriction and taken controls to allow people to get into the Country. Authorities ask for many documents to visit or to live in The United States. Also they have developed new technology of security, such as, new electronic detectors, scanners and cameras everywhere. In my experience, before I left my last Country, at the emigration airport, the authorities asked to us to take off our shoes, jackets, belts and empty our pockets as too. That made me feel a little bit annoyed. Also, I saw some passengers very worried talking each other what it was happening there and why they had to take clothes off. I realized that some of them were feeling paranoia, may be because it was the first time they left their Country and they imagined something bad was happening at the airport at that time. However, I had to understand that uncomfortable situation was necessary for my security and for the passengers too.

         When people want to go out to do their daily activities they percive are being watched in public and private places such, streets, libraries, schools, museums, theaters, and public transportation. People in common like to go out with friends to a restaurant to share a dinner and they are being watched through the way by cameras everywhere even into the restaurant. Nowadays they do not live normally go out to some place else and fell that the security is the worst.

         Our world is full of insecurity and violence and our governments have to deal with them. Some people feel paranoia when they watch news and those are about crimes, war and terrorism every day. Some people are flooded of bad news by different source such as, internet, television, newspaper, and magazines.  Bad news make people feel paranoia and they act according to the source of advertisement that it feeds to them. Although people know that violence is everywhere, their minds imagine unreal things more than what actually really is. Paranoia, becomes some people unstable to think normally, they feel the violence, insecurity, criminals are coming and knocking on their doors soon.

 

         The government of The United States has to realize the technology security system are not  working as they wanted and people feel paranoia and the way to think for the worst. The United States has to be more organized to prevent terrorism. This country is a permanent target for terrorism. People want to feel that they are living in a safe Country. They still wake up and feel paranoia and insecurity around them in this apparently big reality show.

Paragraph 1: How does Seahaven compare to your world in terms of family life, neighborhood life, work life, and leisure time?

People often say, “I would like to have a perfect life in a perfect world, someday, someday”. Cristof created a life in a world called Seaheaven in The Truman show,  who made a perfect world for Truman to live. Truman has a perfect life, living with his adorable wife, good neighbors, and friends. He also has a peaceful neighborhood, and enviable work. However, I would not like to have a Truman's life.

Truman is watched 24 hours 7 days a week in his entire life. I can not imagine having a life being watched all the time where people can not think, act, and live normally and do their daily activities. It would be unethical and uncomfortable for people. The world where Truman lives is a a big lie. Truman can not decide what he want to do by himself . Truman's life is conceived to be controlled by Cristof.

 In my own experience, I can do what I want to do without any supervision or external controls, or cameras or detectors around, like Truman has in his show. I have not had a perfect world but I would say that my life has been good and real. I have had good jobs working for important companies, where I could achieve and develop my knowledge and skills there. I have had a beautiful family, a large apartment, and a nice car and we have being able to travel. Also with my close friends we can share activities in our leisure time and we do not feel that we are watched all the time. Our neighborhood is calm and safety where every body could have a normal daily activities without feel that we are living in a perfect world.

Some people would like to have a life in a perfect world like Truman's has. However, life change permanently in this materialism world and people change too and unfortunately in this competitive world, people have forgotten spiritual life and values and those have been changed for more materialism things. People are nonconformist and want more and more. They want to get the fashionable cellphone model, car, cloths, and they want cosmetic surgeries too.

Paragraph 2: Would you choose to live in Cristof’s world of Seahaven? Why or why not?

Living in Cristof’s world Seaheaven where Truman’s life is fake and is not private because he is living in a big studio full of cameras everywhere and his friends and family are actors, whose whole Truman’s life friends have lied to him. Of course not, I would not like to live in that world like that. It is a world where someone has controlled and manipulated lives, and the human rights do not exist. However, to consider a perfect life or world is subjective. Some people could say that a perfect world is to get a diploma from college, have a god job with good salary, a beautiful wife, children, large house, and the best neighborhood. Other people think that to have just the essential things in life is enough to have a perfect life, such as, a place to live, a lovely family, good health, and a job to support the family too. I would like to have everything to be happy which are good heath, family to love, a god job, just enough money to live and the principal thing, to keep my values and belief as well.

I am very surprised by reading this article, where people are observed acting in an emergency scenario, and how their reactions are when they have to solve a problem in an accident. Some experiments with students in groups of three and individually are exposed acting in two different scenarios. One of them, in a room full of smoke and the other, watching a woman screaming of pain. The analysis showed how human being react different in group than on their own. Their natural instinct reaction to act are blocked in groups but the reaction is different for individual person, they act faster in a danger scenario. I believe most of us have had similar experiences acting or watching people acting on an emergency.

ENG099: The article "Individuals in Groups" by Carol Tavri...: I was very surprised reading this article,where people were observed how they act in an emergency scenario. Indeed I have never thought why our behavior are different when we act in group or individually. I believe most of us have had similar experiences acting or watching people acting on an emergency.

The article "Individuals in Groups" by Carol Tavris, states that in some experiments people were observe acting on an emergency occurred. They were exposed watching the same situation in groups and individually and the answer were different.

I Know the Truth, So Don’t Bother Me with Facts

As human being, we are easily influenced by rumors according to the article “I Know the Truth, So Don’t Bother Me with Facts” by Jeffrey Kluger tells us how human being mind change permanently. The author says that two researchers from “Ohio State University”   made a study on 750 people spreading a fake rumor to see human mind reaction. They affirm that is easy to manipulate other point of view and what they believe in. We can change our point conducted for our instincts without see whether the source of rumor is true or false.

 
We do not want to be wrong when we want to make a decision.  We might think different from others about any topic or believes, it could be a discord between them.  People have some basic knowledge from their childhood which makes them trusting their memory instead of reversing their opinion.  When I was a child, my mother usually told me that don’t talk with a stranger, however, one day I made a mistake, and I went outside without her permission on unusual hour.  As a result of my behavior, my watch was stolen by a strange.  Fortunately, I did not get any injuries from those robbers at that place; it really made me nerves and scare.  Those men had knives in their hands and pushed me to give to them my watch. If you are a little kid, you have to listen what your mom said.

            
           Indeed, we are easily manipulated by a lot of sources of advertisement, for example, some people believe what they read by media advertisement to use products to lose extra pounds in a short period of time. Advertisements influence and manipulate us to buy two products for one price apparently and all the time. They show some commercials with fake pictures of models who apparently lost weight quickly and we believe on that. Our mine are influenced and changed constantly to make a decision by the product in fashion.
          
           We want to express our ideas and beliefs to be accepted for others. Although, a lot of and contrary opinions are coming up to change what we believe in. We still keep what we do and trust.  So when some of us are facing the truth what they truly reject, they will not accept that at all.  We have our own ego about this world so that we would not like being told we are wrong.

          We should be careful of what other people are telling us because we don’t know when it is truth or false.  The best that we can do it is sometimes heard our cognition. Most of the times, it tells us what we have to do as human beings.  We have the right to verify other point of view, and change our minds based on our belief and conveniences.
